Sodium thiosulfate can be used for tanning leather and extracting silver from ore. It can be used to remove chlorine from tap water and is widely used in aquaculture. It is clinically used to treat skin pruritus, urticaria, drug rash, cyanide, thallium poisoning and arsenic poisoning by intravenous injection.
