Sodium thiosulphate, also sodium sulfite, baking soda, high waves. It is a colorless transparent monoclinic crystal with a density of 1.667 g/cm 3. Melting point 48 degrees Celsius. Sodium thiosulfate can be used for tanning leather and extracting silver from ore. It can be used to remove chlorine from tap water and is widely used in aquaculture. It is clinically used to treat skin pruritus, urticaria, drug rash, cyanide, thallium poisoning and arsenic poisoning by intravenous injection.
1) Sodium thiosulphate can adjust the PH balance of water quality in aquaculture; it can also absorb organic suspended solids in water bodies, thereby purifying water quality.
2) Sodium thiosulphate solution can dissolve the unsensitized silver bromide in the developed photographic film into a commonly used fixing agent.
3) Reducing agent for dichromate when tanning leather.
4) In the paper industry, it is used as a chlorine remover after pulp bleaching.
5) In the printing and dyeing industry, it is used as a dechlorination agent after bleaching cotton fabrics, a sulfur dye for knitted fabrics, and an anti-whitening agent for indigo dyes.
