Sodium thiosulphate is colorless, transparent crystal or crystalline fine particle; Odorless, salty; Weathering in dry air, deliquescence in wet air; Aqueous solution shows weak alkaline reaction.

     Sodium thiosulfate, also known as sodium sulfite baking soda sea wave, is a common thiosulfate. The chemical formula is Na2S2O3. It is the product of replacing an oxygen atom with a sulfur atom in sodium sulfate, so the oxidation number of the two sulfur atoms is -2 and +6 respectively
It is mainly used as fixing agent in photography industry. Secondly, it is used as reducing agent of dichromate in tanning leather, neutralizing agent of nitrogen tail gas, mordant, bleaching agent of wheat stalk and wool, and dechlorination agent in bleaching of paper pulp. It is also used in the manufacture of tetraethyl lead, dye intermediates and ore silver extraction.
